Viktor Troicki was born on 10 February 1986 in Belgrade, and already had a racket in his hand by the time he was five. While growing up in Serbia, his boyhood hero was American ace Andre Agassi.
His favourite surface is hard court and his service is his most potent weapon. In 2006 he made his ATP debut in Tokyo, and two years later he broke into the top 100 for the first time in his career.

In 2008 he reached his first ATP final in Washington, as well as making his first appearance in a Grand Slam at the Australian Open, where Rafa Nadal sent him packing in the first round. Soon after that he won his first Grand Slam match, at the Wimbledon Championships.

In 2009 he played his second ATP final in Bangkok. A year later he finally managed to lift his first title in Moscow, and also helped Serbia win it’s first ever Davis Cup.

After playing two more ATP finals in Sydney and Moscow, in June 2011 he achieved his highest position in the world rankings, number 12. He also got the furthest in a Grand Slam in his career so far that year, advancing all the way to the last 16 of Roland Garros.
